FEBRUARY
Union Chapel embarks on a two-year journey called The One Initiative to make more room at the well for the one who has yet to encounter Jesus.
We invite you to explore our beliefs and join us in our pursuit of living out our faith in boldness and passion.
We believe God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe, and that all people are made in His image.
Genesis 1:1 – “In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”
Genesis 1:27 – “So God created mankind in his own image…”
We believe Jesus Christ is the Son of God, fully divine and sent for our salvation.
John 1:1,14 – “The Word was God… The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.”
Colossians 2:9 – “For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.”
We believe God gives eternal life through Jesus Christ to all who believe in Him.
John 3:16 – “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son…”
John 10:28 – “I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish…”
We believe salvation through Jesus Christ is a gift from God, offered freely to all people.
Ephesians 2:8–9 – “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith… it is the gift of God.”
Romans 6:23 – “The gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God, equal with the Father and the Son, and active in the life of every believer.
John 14:26 – “The Advocate, the Holy Spirit… will teach you all things…”
Acts 1:8 – “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you…”
We believe the Bible is God’s Word to all people and the final authority in all matters of faith and practice.
2 Timothy 3:16–17 – “All Scripture is God-breathed…”
Hebrews 4:12 – “For the word of God is alive and active…”
We believe men and women are equal in value before God and are both called and gifted for ministry and leadership within the church.
Galatians 3:28 – “There is neither male nor female… for you are all one in Christ Jesus.”
Acts 2:17–18 – “Your sons and daughters will prophesy…”
We believe all people are of sacred worth and should be welcomed without discrimination, reflecting God’s heart for unity and justice.
Genesis 1:27 – “God created mankind in his own image…”
James 2:1 – “Believers… must not show favoritism.”
We believe marriage and sexual intimacy are gifts from God, intended for a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman, with faithfulness in marriage and celibacy in singleness.
Genesis 2:24 – “A man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife…”
Hebrews 13:4 – “Marriage should be honored by all…”
We believe every person should be treated with compassion, love, kindness, and respect, reflecting the dignity given by God.
Colossians 3:12 – “Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility…”
Micah 6:8 – “Act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
We are committed to living out the values of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Our mission is to love God, love others, and share the good news of Jesus Christ.
Our highest value is to love God wholeheartedly and to love one another selflessly, reflecting His love in every relationship.
Lost people matter deeply to God, and therefore they matter to the Church, compelling us to reach out with compassion and purpose.
The Church should remain culturally relevant in its approach while staying firmly grounded in sound doctrine and biblical truth.
Believers are called to pursue a deep and growing intimacy with Christ through prayer, worship, and daily obedience.
The ministry of the Church is most effective when believers serve according to their spiritual gifts, temperaments, and God-given talents.
Ministry is best accomplished in teams, where unity, collaboration, and shared purpose strengthen the work of the Church.
Clear biblical teaching is the catalyst for life transformation, and ongoing growth is best nurtured in the context of small groups and community.
Excellence in all we do honors God and inspires people to pursue Him with greater passion and commitment.
The Church should be led by believers who are gifted in leadership and fully committed to the mission, vision, and values of the church.
The people of God are called to live lives marked by honor and obedience, faithfully following His Word in every area of life.
