COVID-19 Update - Week 4

Little faith produces big worry, but big faith reveals a big God. Take these days to strengthen your faith in the big God we serve.

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own."

Matthew 6:25-34

This is a great opportunity to be the hands and feet of Jesus in our community. Let's be good neighbors to those in need! Be strong and courageous!

A practical way to help others at this time, is to give blood. More than 2,700 blood drives have been canceled due to the COVID19, resulting in a decrease of more than 86,000 units of blood being donated. BLOOD DONATION IS SAFE and the need is high. Click here to find out where to donate and schedule an appointment to give today!

COVID-19 Update - Week 1

In response to Governor Holcomb’s announcement on Thursday, March 12, we have made the difficult decision to cancel all in person services for the next two weekends, March 14/15 and March 21/22.

For many world-wide, this virus is a source of fear and anxiety. As followers of Jesus, we’re clear that God has given us a spirit of love and not fear (For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind. – 2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that you will continue to sense God’s peace in the midst of these circumstances. Be in prayer for Muncie and for the world, especially for those who are directly impacted by this virus. Continue to hold onto your faith and do not let fear cripple you.

SUNDAY SERVICES

Though the campus is closed, worship will continue ONLINE. Join us LIVE at 10am & 11:30am on Sundays via YouTube here or on Facebook here. Should you need help accessing our online services, our main church phone line, (765) 288-8383, will be open Sunday March 14, from 9AM to noon, to assist you with technology questions.

Be invitational during this time! Invite your friends and family to access the service online or gather with you, as Pastor Gregg kicks off the Lenten season and our new series Instead of Me.

We encourage you to interact with others through these platforms as we offer a message of hope, more important now than ever. We are grateful for the opportunity to utilize technology to come together and look forward to worshiping with on Sundays!

GIVING

We recommend that you give your offering and tithes online. Now is a great time to set up your giving account or recurring giving. Setting up your bank account payment method, minimizes fees and functions just like a paper check! Access online giving here. Although our activities may be curtailed for a time, our fixed expenses for our ministries, staffing, and building operations will continue. Thank you for your continued support!

CAMPUS ACTIVITIES

All on campus meetings will be suspended until further notice. Union Chapel office hours will remain the same Monday-Thursday 8:30am-4:30pm and Friday 8:30am-Noon.

FUTURE

Look for further updates check this page, Union Chapel Facebook and Instagram social media pages. We will continue to monitor state and local recommendations to evaluate future gatherings.

We are making choices to love our community well and ask that you consider your neighbors, family and friends in finding unique and safe ways to serve those in need. Sharing the love and hope of Christ will prevail over fear as we all choose to respond in love.
